SOUTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL SET TO IMPOSE NEW PAY SCHEME

South Ayrshire Councillors met last week and agreed to proceed with a Single Status package of pay, conditions and new grades for its staff.

UNISON South Ayrshire branch has rejected the proposals. UNISON has participated within this lengthy process and has been successful in gaining many improvements to the initial proposals.

Renee Gillan UNISON branch secretary said “The council failed to fully meet our members expectations and left UNISON South Ayrshire branch with no alternative other than to inform the council we could not agree to the proposals on offer to our membership”

These proposals were passed at council on the 21st April 2009 without the agreement of UNISON South Ayrshire Branch.

UNISON will continue to campaign on our members behalf. Billy Cooper Branch Chair stated “As employees are informed of the changes to their pay we will be holding Surgeries over the coming weeks. The dates, venues and times will sent to all members in an edition of our members bulletin”
